When thinking of magical paths, European or Far Eastern traditions often come to mind, overlooking the vibrant folk practices developed in America. This presentation explores Appalachian Granny Magic, HooDoo, Brujería, & Curanderismo, folk magic systems that span the full breadth of the American South and create a network of conjure practice. Their development & practice speak to the magical heart of often marginalized and disregarded cultures. We will discuss recent interest in these conjure paths, ignited as many were called to the Crossroads of Conjure to explore these powerful practices.
