Wonder, Ecstacy, Alchemy: Lives and Aspects of Dionysus
Dionysus is Ecstasy, Innocence, Wonder and Madness, the blooming vine and the ripe full fruit that surrenders its Essence to become Spirit. For all that we know of Dionysus, there is a deep Mystery which has gone all but unexplored in modern times. We have all heard of the Triple Goddess, but few have heard of the Triple God. In the MASC tradition of a Howlin’ Good Time (those who brought you the Room of Requirement), we will explore these Mysteries, discover wonder, engage in ecstacy and find and play with our edges. All over 21 are welcome!

MASC is a group of diverse Magicians, Priestesses, and Priests practicing ecstatic magick and devotional worship of the Gods. While the practitioners within MASC come from a range of backgrounds in tradition and practice, they have worked together to create experiential and transformative... Read More →

The Theurgy of Eros
Theurgy is the ritual process for communication with the Gods. Our Pagan ancestors used the power of Eros to ascend to Divinity, proceeding through initiatory stages of Purification, Illumination, and Divine Union. The process was outlined by Diotima, the Wise Woman in Plato's "Symposium," and further developed by the Neoplatonists. In this workshop I will describe the steps in the Ascent by Love from my recent book, "The Wisdom of Hypatia." We will do visualizations and contemplative exercises so you learn the technique and can apply it later, on your own or with a partner.

Translating Ancient Practice: A Ritual Symposium
How do we recognize and form relationships with the Gods in the modern world when so much of what we know comes from ancient sources and unfamiliar cultures? How do we engage with deity in a meaningful and effective way? How do we experience that connection and build community with members from diverse backgrounds? Join House of Zephyrus, TOGA’s Hellenic temple, in a devotional ritual and symposium inspired by ancient traditions to discuss these questions and more. Share your own experiences, practices, and strategies in a respectful and spirited discussion dedicated to Athena and Apollo.

Ancient Greek Dice Divination
From the Delphic Oracle to dream incubation to dice casting, divination was an essential means of communication between ancient Greek and their Gods. In this workshop, I will teach several authentic ancient divination systems. One is an ancient dice oracle, for which I'll provide a new translation. l will also teach the ancient Greek alphabet oracle, which is similar to rune casting, from my recent book, “The Oracles of Apollo.”

John Opsopaus

Dr. Opsopaus has practiced magic, divination, and Neopaganism since the 1960s. He designed the Pythagorean Tarot and wrote the "Guide to the Pythagorean Tarot." His recent "Oracles of Apollo" teaches divination based on ancient Greek texts. Opsopaus frequently presents workshops on... Read More →

Women's Dionysian Initiation - Villa of Mysteries, Pompeii
Before Mount Vesuvius covered Pompeii with ash, a spiritual center flourished near the city, where women experienced profound initiations similar to those of Eleusis, but focused on womanhood. Detailed murals in the hall of initiation illustrated much of the experience. Linda Fierz-David's book shows how this supported individuation in the Jungian sense, and is as relevant now as it was 2,000 years ago. We will discuss the literature, explore the murals, and use active imagination to experience the journey ourselves. All genders welcome. Some mature content. Doors close for trance.

Jo Carson and Feraferia

Feraferia is a love culture for wilderness. As a faerie faith, Feraferia connects you to living spirits of your particular landscape. We draw from ancient Crete, the Eleusinian Mysteries, troubadour practices, and megalithic traditions. We celebrate the Goddess especially as Artemis-Persephone... Read More →
